Sucrose Cocoate is a mild, plant-derived ingredient made by combining sucrose (sugar) with fatty acids from coconut oil. In skincare and haircare, it’s mainly used as an emollient and texture helper: it can make formulas feel smoother, less greasy, and more cushiony on the skin. It also helps products spread more evenly, which is why you may find it in cleansers, creams, lotions, shampoos, and conditioners.
For skin, sucrose cocoate can leave a soft, comfortable finish and help reduce the stripped feeling that some cleansers can cause. In hair products, it may improve slip and softness, making strands easier to detangle and feel less rough.
