Cetyl Palmitate is a waxy emollient made by combining cetyl alcohol and palmitic acid, fatty components often sourced from plant oils such as coconut or palm kernel. It also supports the skin’s soft, conditioned feel by leaving behind a light, velvety film that helps reduce the look of dryness.
For skin and hair, cetyl palmitate mainly works as a texture enhancer and slip-giver. It can make products spread more easily, feel less greasy, and help hair conditioners or styling products glide through strands more smoothly.
