Descripción
Potassium Phosphate is a small, water-soluble salt used mainly as a pH adjuster and buffering agent in cosmetics. In simple terms, it helps keep a formula at the right acidity so the product stays stable, feels comfortable, and works as intended. You’ll usually find it in cleansers, serums, lotions, and hair products rather than as a star ingredient.
For skin and hair, its benefit is indirect but important: a well-balanced pH can help a formula be gentler and more compatible with the skin’s surface and the hair cuticle. That makes it useful in products aimed at people who want reliable, well-formulated basics, especially if they prefer lightweight, no-fuss formulas. It doesn’t moisturize, exfoliate, or treat concerns on its own, but it helps other ingredients perform properly.
Caveat: Potassium Phosphate is generally considered a supporting ingredient, not an active treatment. In rare cases, very sensitive users may react to any formula depending on the overall ingredient mix, but the phosphate itself is not usually the main concern. Its role is mostly behind the scenes, helping the product stay balanced and consistent over time.
