Descrição

Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate is a mild cleansing ingredient made from coconut fatty acids and the amino acid glycine. It’s a surfactant, which means it helps water lift away oil, dirt, and makeup so they can be rinsed off. Compared with harsher cleansers, it’s often chosen for formulas that aim to feel gentler and less stripping on skin and hair.

In skincare, it’s commonly found in facial cleansers, body washes, and cleansing bars because it can create a soft, creamy lather while helping preserve a more comfortable after-feel. In hair care, it can help cleanse the scalp and strands without the squeaky-clean dryness some stronger surfactants can leave behind. People with normal to dry, sensitive, or easily tight-feeling skin often appreciate it, especially in products designed for frequent use.

Caveat: “Gentle” doesn’t mean universally non-irritating. Any cleansing ingredient can bother very reactive skin depending on the full formula, concentration, and how long it stays on the skin. If you’re prone to sensitivity, it’s smart to look at the whole ingredient list, not just one cleanser.
