Descrição

D-Limonene is a naturally occurring fragrance compound found in citrus peels, especially orange and lemon. In cosmetics, it’s used mainly to give products a fresh, bright citrus scent, and it can also help dissolve oils and other ingredients in some formulas. You’ll often see it in perfumes, cleansers, shampoos, body washes, and other products where scent and a lightweight, non-greasy feel matter.

For skin and hair, D-Limonene doesn’t act like a classic treatment ingredient such as a moisturizer or active serum ingredient. Its main role is sensory: it makes products smell pleasant and can improve the overall user experience. People who enjoy citrus-scented formulas may like it, especially in rinse-off products. It can be found in both skin and hair care, but it’s not especially “beneficial” in the nourishing sense.

Caveat: D-Limonene can be irritating for some people, particularly when it oxidizes over time in air and light. If you have very sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy, it’s worth checking labels carefully and choosing fragrance-free options when needed. As with many fragrance ingredients, tolerance varies a lot from person to person.
