Carrageenan

Carrageenan is a natural polysaccharide, meaning a large sugar-based molecule, that comes from red edible seaweeds. In cosmetics, it’s mainly used as a helper ingredient because it can thicken, gel, and stabilize formulas, helping products keep a smooth texture and preventing ingredients from separating.
