Salvia Sclarea Oil is the essential oil distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of clary sage, a fragrant herb in the mint family. In cosmetics, it’s used mostly for its scent and for the sensory boost it gives to formulas, though it can also contribute a light, refreshing feel on skin and scalp. You’ll often find it in facial oils, cleansers, body products, and hair care, where it helps create a more spa-like experience.
For skin and hair, Salvia Sclarea Oil is valued less as a “treatment” ingredient and more as a supportive, aromatic one. People with normal to oily skin may enjoy it in small amounts, especially in rinse-off or well-formulated products. In hair care, it can add fragrance and a clean-feeling finish. Because it is an essential oil, it may be irritating for sensitive skin, and it’s best used diluted rather than applied neat.
