Description
CI 45410 is a cosmetic colorant used to give products a pink-to-red hue. You’ll most often see it in lipsticks, lip glosses, blushes, and other makeup where a bright, clean red tone is wanted. In some formulas, it can also be used as a pH-sensitive dye, meaning it stays nearly colorless in the package but develops a pink or red tint when it meets the skin’s natural moisture and pH. That makes it popular in “color-changing” lip balms and tints.
For skin and hair products, CI 45410 doesn’t treat the skin or improve hair health on its own — its job is mainly visual. It helps create a flattering flush, even out the look of a product, or add a custom shade to a formula. People who like sheer, buildable color or playful transforming makeup may especially enjoy products containing it. As with any colorant, some users with very sensitive skin or lips may prefer to patch test new products, since individual reactions can vary.
